The Algarve has long been a popular destination for British holidaymakers. One of Hills Balfour’s objectives for this PR-only client is to highlight lesser known areas and aspects of the region to UK and Irish media, encouraging exploration beyond coastal areas, increasing appeal to niche markets and driving shoulder season bookings.

Hills Balfour has organised a number of individual and group press trips for UK and Irish media to the Algarve, working with partners on the ground to coordinate bespoke itineraries for niche products including bird watching, nautical activities, MICE, art, golf, diving, gastronomy, nature & the outdoors, and spa & wellness. Press trips have resulted in lengthy feature coverage within specialist and mainstream publications, showcasing the diversity of the Algarve and introducing it to new markets. 

Hills Balfour organises press trips throughout the year on behalf of our entire portfolio of clients. In 2012, we arranged trips for around 500 media including TV crews, radio broadcasters, celebrities, print and online journalists and bloggers.  We create itineraries around topical hooks and media-friendly themes, working with airlines, ground handlers, tour operators and hotels to maximise the benefit for all participants. We ensure all media we send on trips have guaranteed commissions before travelling. Our priority is providing the best return on investment for our clients.
