Lindsey Thorpe

Account Director

What I have done...
I have been working in and around the MICE sector since graduating from Bournemouth University in Tourism Management in 2007, starting out at a small UK based association running their calendar of events and recruiting members. I then moved on to work as an in-house event coordinator for DNC at Wembley Stadium arranging the event logistics, f&b and in house suppliers for conferences, exhibitions, dinners and parties at the stadium from 10 up to 10,000 people.
Just prior to working for Hills Balfour I worked for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, generating convention and M&I leads to the City and increasing awareness of the City’s core values to MICE planners through events, sales calls and marketing.

What I do now...
I joined Hills Balfour in April 2015 as MICE Account Manager, responsible for generating MICE enquiries for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) through sales and marketing activities in the UK.

What I do for fun...
I love to travel when possible having travelled previously across a lot of Asia and taking lots of long weekend city breaks in Europe. In addition I like to keep fit and spend lots of time outdoors walking and running after my son, Alfie.

What I bring to Hills Balfour...
I bring to the MICE team a host of industry knowledge and contacts especially in regards to the Association market in the UK & Europe and venue experience in handling contracts and negotiations.
I have a positive and hardworking attitude and a passion for the MICE industry.
