Meet the Team

Peter Balfour

Operations & HR Director

What I have done…
I started in the Travel industry as an overseas rep on the campsites in the south of France rising to Personnel Manager. I have worked extensively on the Tour Operation side, particularly in contracting and brochure production, working on the ski programmes, self-drive and short breaks and eventually Japanese European Inbound markets. During this time, I qualified in the Institute of Personnel Management. Eventually, I launched my own holiday company specialising in luxury Villas in the South of France, which I ran for 20 years, before joining Hills Balfour full time in 2011.

What I do now…
I join the Central Services team as a Director to centralise and organise Operations and in particular bringing continuity and consistency to the Human Resources function.

What I do for fun…
I love chilling at home most of all with my family and our dog. My top passion is following international Rugby: England and the British & Irish Lions. Having been brought up in Paris, I enjoy cooking, gourmet cuisine and I love fine wines and have a particular affinity with Côtes de Provence rosés. To keep fit, I play football regularly, tennis in the summer and swimming. Skiing is another passion of mine – not boarding…skiing!

What I bring to Hills Balfour…
With over 20 years of being an entrepreneur and 30 years clocked up in the Travel Industry, I add organisation and operational strength to Hills Balfour and contribute at Board level to the successful running of the company.
