Costa Navarino, the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean, has been awarded accolades for the Navarino Residences, its collection of private villas as well as for its sustainable development.

Navarino Residences, Costa Navarino’s exclusive collection of luxury villas for sale has been named ‘Best International Residential Development’ in the 26th annual International Property Awards 2017, at a ceremony held at the Savoy Hotel London on 4 December. Judged by an independent panel of 70 experts, the awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the global property and real estate industry.

The judging process focuses on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and a commitment to sustainability. The prestigious accolade follows Navarino Residences being named ‘Best Residential Development Europe’.

Situated in one of the most beautiful beachfront locations in the Mediterranean, the luxury villas for private ownership range in size from 300 m2 to 1,000 m2 gross indoor areas, all in spacious plots from 1,500 m2 to 3,000 m2. Boasting breathtaking sea views, they are located just a few meters from the beach or among verdant olive groves, all offering unobstructed sea views for life. Home-owners enjoy the unique combination of property and facility management services of the highest level, a wide range of hospitality services, two signature golf courses and premier sports facilities create a unique experience that is the Navarino Residences lifestyle.

Stephanos Theodorides, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of TEMES – Developers of Costa Navarino, commented: ‘We are thrilled with this prestigious accolade and the recognition of Navarino Residences within the property industry. This award marks the perfect culmination of a successful year which saw nearly half of the project’s first phase already sold. Navarino Residences offer much more than a residential proposition – they are a way of life, and this was embraced by the villa owners who decided to create their home in this exquisite location, becoming part of the Costa Navarino lifestyle’.

In addition, The Romanos, A Luxury Collection Resort won Green Hotel of the Year at the European Hospitality Awards 2017. The awards commend the finest hotels throughout Europe, judged by a panel of experts from across the hospitality industry. Being named recipient of Green Hotel of the Year highlights Costa Navarino’s strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The destination’s philosophy focuses on sustainable tourism development in harmony with the natural environment and local communities of Messinia. More than 90% of the total land area is dedicated to natural and planted greenery and the building footprint is less than 10%.

During construction, Costa Navarino initiated the biggest olive-tree transplanting programme in Europe in an effort to preserve the age-long landscape. Olive trees were uprooted and temporarily planted in a specially prepared reception area, before being replanted, with over 6,500 olive trees being successfully replanted. Other initiatives include water resource management and projects that achieve significant reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
