Explore the Arts off the Beaten Track with OZO Wesley Hong Kong ( 09 August 2017 )

When you think of Hong Kong, the energy and vibrant vibe of the city’s dramatic skyline, neon lights and crowds often come to mind. However, there is an emerging artistic side to this city awaiting to be explored. OZO Wesley Hong Kong would like to invite all the urban art enthusiasts to wander around Sheung Wan, a trendy nearby neighbourhood and a treasure trove of street art.

Experience something a little different from art in formal galleries. Hop onto an old-school tram passing through scenes of the historical Central Hong Kong along the track, then hop off in Sheung Wan and stroll along the colourfully painted Hollywood Road, one of the city’s oldest streets, where a range of incredible murals and graffiti can be seen. Witness a dazzling fusion of street art created by talented artists from around the world. Some of the masterpieces include a large mural of a colourful, geometric-patterned fox by Rukkit, a famous Thai graffiti artist, the portrait of a charming woman by Hopare, a renowned French artist, and a mural depicting martial arts legend Bruce Lee by XEVA, a well-known Korean graffiti artist.

The vocal local team at OZO Wesley Hong Kong also recommend a visit to PMQ, the former Police Married Quarters, which has been revitalised as a creative hub and is now home to many young artists and designers. Stay tuned to their monthly exhibitions and workshops for insights into the local arts and crafts scene. This art venue also provides a fascinating line-up of studios, designer products and stylish cafés. Complete an artistic day with another feast for the eyes, as well as the stomach, at funky Bibo, a space where street art meets fine dining, and marvel at the displays of works by renowned artists such as Jeff Koons, Banksy, Damien Hirst and more, while savouring French gastronomic creations.

Sleep, dream, wake up energised and step out to explore the sights. OZO Wesley Hong Kong is now offering 15% off for the early birds who make a reservation at least 21 days in advance and 10% off for those who make a reservation at least 7 days in advance. Rates start at 108 GBP ++ per night in a Sleep room, which comes with superb bedding and intuitive design to give travellers just what they need for the perfect night’s sleep.

In 2010, Charity Challenge organised a celebrity trek to Machu Picchu in Peru for Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Alexandra Burke, Amanda Byram and Gabriella Cilmi, in aid of Breast Cancer Care. The logistics were huge, and we came to rely on Hills Balfour for their support and advice in their role as representatives for PromPeru. The trip was a huge success and we anticipate an increase in bookings for our Peru challenges in 2011 of around 300%.
