INGHAMS LAKES & MOUNTAINS IS INVITING GUESTS TO EMBARK ON A ROYAL GETAWAY TO VISIT SOME OF EUROPE’S MOST SPECTACULAR CASTLES AND PALACES ( 09 June 2017 )

Ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday on Saturday 10th June, Inghams Lakes and Mountains is highlighting some of Europe’s most beautiful royal heritage sites and where to find them. While the Queen has her pick of some of the most spectacular castles and stately homes, from London to Aberdeenshire, Europe is also home to some outstanding castles and fortresses, many of which can be explored on an Inghams city break, excursion or escorted tour:

ADMIRE THE CASTLES AND GARDENS OF LAKE CONSTANCE

Straddling Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Lake Constance stretches over 60km and is home to an array of cultural treasures, historic sites and picturesque gardens. Guests who join Inghams’ award-winning ‘Castles and Gardens of Lake Constance’ escorted tour will travel as part of a small group with an expert guide for the entire trip. Highlights include visiting Napoleon III’s former home Arenenberg Castle, enjoying a tour and wine tasting at Salem Monastery and Palace, and discovering the ‘Flower Island’ of Mainau. Hidden amongst an array of flora and fauna, the ‘Flower Island’ of Mainau is home to the biggest butterfly house in Germany as well as Mainau Island’s stunning Baroque Palace, which dates back to the Teutonic Order of Knights, who owned the island for almost 500 years from the 13th century.

Inghams is offering a seven night ‘Castles and Gardens of Lake Constance’ tour from £1,439 per person departing on 2nd or 23rd August 2017. Price includes accommodation on a half board basis, a ‘Lake Constance Seebaren’ travel pass, guided tours as specified and entrance to the ‘Flower Island’ of Mainau. EXPLORE THE MAGICAL NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE FROM SEEFELD IN AUSTRIA

Once the former home of King Ludwig II, the idyllic setting of Neuschwanstein Castle is nothing short of picture perfect. Guests can see this iconic sight, which inspired Walt Disney with its fairytale presence and starred in the classic film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, on an Inghams excursion from the nearby alpine town of Seefeld. Resting on the border between Austria and Germany, Seefeld is best known for its great range of walking paths and cycle routes, which allow travellers to uncover the beauty of Austria’s countryside. The town is also home to a number of festivals and events during the summer, and is a short distance from the city of Innsbruck for further sightseeing.

Inghams is offering a seven night stay at the four-star Sporthotel Xander (in Leutasch, Seefeld) from £679 per person. Price includes return flights and transfers and is valid for travel in August 2017. The full-day Neuschwanstein Castle excursion can be pre-booked from £40 per person. DISCOVER THE WINES AND CASTLES OF SLOVENIA AND ITALY

Inghams guests can explore the vast range of vineyards, wine regions and historical castles that Slovenia and Italy have to offer on the popular ‘Wines and Castles of Slovenia and Italy’ escorted tour. The tour takes travellers on a journey through Karst, which borders both countries and allows travellers to experience both Slovenian and Italian influences in the region. In addition to some spectacular wine regions, the tour includes a visit to Miramare Castle, the former home and haven of Archduke Maximilian of Hapsburg and Charlotte of Belgium, and the fourteenth century fortification of Duino Castle. Both of these historic sites overlook the Golf of Trieste, providing fantastic viewpoints. TESTIMONIAL

In 2010, Charity Challenge organised a celebrity trek to Machu Picchu in Peru for Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Alexandra Burke, Amanda Byram and Gabriella Cilmi, in aid of Breast Cancer Care. The logistics were huge, and we came to rely on Hills Balfour for their support and advice in their role as representatives for PromPeru. The trip was a huge success and we anticipate an increase in bookings for our Peru challenges in 2011 of around 300%.

MEET THE TEAM

Tiara Webb

What I have done…
Prior to starting my higher education I took a gap year and interned for a local television station in Bermuda as well as travelled to South Africa to attend a camp at the African Leadership Academy. After that, I attended Washington State University where I graduated with BA in Journalism and Media Production with minors in Anthropology and Global Studies. During my university time I also found myself studying abroad at Vesalius College in Brussels where I developed my love for Europe and travelling even more.

What I do now…
After completing a three month work placement at Hills Balfour, I became an Assistant Account Executive in the PR team working with an exciting range of clients.

What I do for fun…
Growing up in Bermuda and the United States really gave me the travel bug. I love exploring new states and countries whether that takes me on a spontaneous road trip to see Orca whales or across the western Caribbean to see ancient Mayan ruins. Since coming to London, I love exploring the city’s unique street art and dance scenes.

What I bring to Hills Balfour…
Besides a cool American accent, I bring an open mind, calm personality, a willingness to try new things and a passion for the social and digital world to the team.
