Jane Nicholson, Regional Director at Hills Balfour also went to Sardinia, Italy on a self-drive of the island this summer for her holiday.
The highlight of her trip was sailing to the La Maddalena archipelago – a stunning area in the North with turquoise clear water and pristine beaches, whilst her favourite area was Stintino – a great little town in the north of the island and close to 2 fantastic beaches including La Pelosa and La Saline.
She found it impossible to specifically choose individual bars or restaurants as all the food was fantastic with great seafood, traditional suckling pig and she also tried grilled horsemeat which she said was totally delicious!
“I would definitely go again” she said, there are “great beaches, great food, it’s easy to get around and I love all things Italian! And it is not as expensive as perceived – you can definitely find something to suit your budget”. You can eat pizza and wine for less than 10 euros!
