We attended a fantastic Middle Eastern Cookery Masterclass event with digital influencers last week to promote the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF). The festival showcases Qatar’s diverse dining options combined with local and international cuisine, across more than 60 diverse food stalls as well as cultural and hospitality experiences.
The event was held at Cookery School. which hosted the day brilliantly. The team at Cookery School were an absolute delight to work, and the chefs incredibly engaging/fantastic teachers.
We discovered Qatar’s gastronomy highlights at the inspired Qatar International Food Festival class, being taught all about the soft spices and fragrant aromas of the Middle East with an introduction to new techniques and recipes to prepare a Middle Eastern menu.
Attendees prepared a four course Middle Eastern feast throughout the morning and then enjoyed their creations for lunch. They were encouraged to document their journey on their social channels for a chance to win a trip to Qatar to experience QIFF.
The menu consisted of:-
- Welcome aperitif and Cookery School nibbles
- Mixed mezze (including hummus and winter tabblouleh) and homemade flat bread
- Rhug organic lamb tagine served with Persian rice
- Semolina cake with yoghurt and fresh oranges
- Coffee/teas and homemade baklava
Some of us were on savouries, others on sweet:-
