Below we have a Paris report from Sarah Austin, Senior Sales & Marketing Account Manager.
Bleary eyed, the Hills Balfour team boarded the Eurostar for a weekend of French fabulousness. The staff at Hills Balfour je t’aime the bubbles and soon, alongside strong coffee, the bucks fizz was flowing:-
By mid-morning the team had arrived into Paris minus our MD, Jonathan Sloane who became a proud dad that morning.
Saturday afternoon was spent on the River Seine on board a cruise. This was a fantastic way to see Paris in the sunshine and a great start to the trip. Having visited Paris multiple times it was something I had never done and would recommend it as a must. It may have been Summer in Paris but the banks alongside the Seine were buzzing with Parisians and tourists chilling on the pop up beaches and the bars. The cruise even went under the bridges with the love locks:-
Saturday evening started in the La Coupole Restaurant, one of the most famous brasseries in the world, the steak was amazing.
Sunday was Hills Balfour tour day there were several options available – a walking tour, Wine Tasting with Cheese and Charcuterie Lunch or Palace of Versailles and Court of Scents Tour. I opted for the walking tour secret sites and hidden gems. Our guide was brilliant, so knowledgeable and fun. He knew the way to our hearts was with food. Croissants, cheese and macaroons all featured within our tour. This tour really revealed a different side to Paris and I felt I learnt lots on this breath-taking city.
Just after our coffee and cheese break:-
At dinner in Boullion Chartier we debriefed on all the tours the team had done that day. Fun it seems was had by all. Sunday night carried on at a bar by Moulin Rouge, a quiet night it wasn’t!
Monday was a chilled day for all and a few jaded faces could be seen exploring the sights of Paris. Hills Balfour couldn’t go to Paris and not visit Interface, part of the GTI office. Sunshine joined us and it was a great way to finish on their roof terrace talking tourism.
The Eurostar journey home was a slightly quieter affair, however some still managed a few glasses of bubbles! Paris I can safely say we adore you and a fantastic time was had by all, my only regret was not buying any macaroons … I wonder what time the next Eurostar leaves!
