The ABTA Travel Trends Report 2017 is out.
They have highlighted 12 Destinations to watch (or hopefully to go to) this year. Listed in alphabetical order, they consist of the following places:-
- The Azores
- County Kerry
- South Africa
- USA – The Southern States
With regard to overseas travel, there is an overall positive outlook, despite uncertainty created by world events and political changes. Early bookings remain strong and indicate a new appeal towards long haul destinations. Spain is expected to be the year’s top performing destination, with Portugal, Italy and Cyprus seeing strong early bookings. Croatia and Mexico are also tipped to be popular.
All-inclusive holidays are expected to perform extremely well and is particularly appealing to young families. Fluctuations in currency are also expected to influence holiday decisions.
Domestic holidays are also expected to see a boost this year, especially with young families.
The cruise market is expected to have a good year, in particular river cruises.
