I attended the National UK Travel Blog Awards 2015 on Friday evening, together with our Social Media Director , Lucy Campbell who had been shortlisted for an individual travel blogger award. The event was held at The Montcalm Hotel in Marble Arch and the official headline and AutomotiveCategory sponsor for the evening was Go Compare, a fine example of a company looking to develop more of a personality behind their brand, enabling them to build an affiliation with their customers online, using great content.
This is the second year that the UK Blog Awards have been running and they are the only Blog Awards recognising a multitude of industry professional talent across the UK. They provide a unique opportunity for for individual professionals from a range of different sectors and organisations to be recognised for their social media achievements through blogging.
Gemma Newton nee. Pears, Founder and Managing Director, UK Blog Awards Ltd said of the competition:-
“All shortlisted candidates should be hugely proud of what they’ve achieved to reach this final stage. The bloggers have certainly been put through their paces with the stringent criteria the judges had to follow, with the judging assessing not only the content but also the design, style, marketing and usability of each blog. The high standard required to be crowned a UKKBA15 winner enables the blog awards to maintain its name as the “Oscars of UK Blogging”.
The level of sponsors and judges was very high, full of champions of digital marketing and supporting new talent which is a great accolade to the UK’s top individual and company bloggers. Here at Hills Balfour we are increasingly aware of an interest from our clients in engaging with bloggers and other digital influencers to help promote their brands and with Lucy winning this coveted award, we will continue to develop this growing area.
The Travel sector was Judged by Serena Guen, founding Editor in Chief of SUITCASE Magazine and Lynne Slowey Group Head of Digital Content at Thomas Cook. Lucy stays true to her brand and thoroughly deserved to win!”
