The 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 is well under way in Vienna!! After winning last year’s competition the very memorable Conchita Wurst, an Austrian national, has brought the biggest song competition in Europe to her country’s capital for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
Broadcast live for the BBC by Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, the contest kicked off on Monday at the Vienna Stadthalle in the heart of the city. 32 contestants will be narrowed down to 16 finalists who compete at the Grand Final on Saturday night- a whopping 200 million people are forecast to tune in!
So, what should you keep an eye out for this Saturday night if you’re thinking of tuning in?
• Vienna is putting on quite the spectacle, creating a 1,288 part light-up eye as the stage
• You won’t be able to miss the 2014 winner, the fabulous Conchita will be performing her winning song Rise Like a Phoenix and reporting live from the artists’ Green Room
• The UK’s entry Still in Love with You. Who knows…maybe this year’s our year!
