Amanda Hills
Amanda Hills President Having grown up in Bermuda and then Saudi Arabia, travel is clearly in Amanda’s DNA - and so it was only natural that she studied Business Studies and Travel and Tourism. Amanda went on to spend over ten years in product and marketing with one of the UK’s largest tour operators before pursuing a career in transport where she headed up the global marketing efforts for the highly prestigious Eurotunnel brand.

Amanda then went on to create Hills Balfour Group, a specialist travel and tourism marcomms agency in the UK and Middle East and is today an active committee member of an exceptional global network of like minded thinkers. All in all Amanda actually has the “best job in the world” which feeds her passion every single day of the year.
Jonathan Sloan
Jonathan Sloan Managing Director - Hills Balfour U.K. Jonathan has vast experience of the workings of the travel industry, having begun at grass roots level as a luggage porter at Cliveden. He quickly moved into in-house PR and Marketing with Grosvenor House. In 2003 he joined Hills Balfour as PR Director and today in his capacity as Managing Director now works across the company’s whole portfolio of travel and tourism clients.
Julian Mills
Julian Mills Corporate Director Julian’s extensive experience expands globally across 35 years; he’s lived and worked in regions including the Far East and the Caribbean, undertaking roles such as Director of Special Projects for a UK multi-national company. At Hills Balfour, he is responsible for all executive aspects of running the company. Outside the office, he can be found either racing yachts on the Solent or fishing for trout & salmon on England’s chalkstreams or Scotland’s big rivers.
Peter Balfour
Peter Balfour HR & Operations Director Brought up in the Parisian suburbs, Peter started his career in Travel as an overseas rep on the campsites in the South of France. Prior to joining the company, he launched and ran his own holiday company specialising in luxury Villas in Provence, the Côte d’Azur and the French Riviera, which he ran for 20 years. In 2011 he joined Hills Balfour as a Director.

Outside of office hours and with his French upbringing, Peter has developed an affinity for gastronomic cuisine and fine wines with a particular penchant for Côtes de Provence rosés. He is a sports fan and is an avid follower of international rugby supporting England and the British & Irish Lions. Best of all he loves relaxing at home with his family and black Labrador. In his spare time, he plays football and is a keen skier – skiing, not boarding!
Maureen McGrory
Maureen McGrory Executive Director From cutting her teeth overseas and in the UK with International Leisure Group, Maureen continued to progress her HR career within the travel industry, including startup operations such as Sunworld and TV Travel Shop, before moving into media and publishing. Having set up and managed the HR policies and strategy in the early days of Hills Balfour as a member of the board, she recently re-joined the company in the summer of 2017 in the capacity of Executive Director.
Anthony Dalton
Anthony Dalton Managing Director – Hills Balfour (Dubai) Despite Ant’s youthful looks he has worked for an emotional 20 years in some of the most awarded and bravest creative agencies across the UK, Australia and Middle East. Shooting Branson in spa baths, Tiger on pool decks, and re-imagining the Louvre. A failed Welsh rugby wannabe, Ant still believes he could win the 6 Nations one day.
Jo Hartley
Jo Hartley Associate Director Born in Egypt, Jo has enjoyed travel from day one. She has been in the travel PR industry since 2004, working across different international tourism accounts including tourist boards, airlines, tour operators and hotels. She joined Hills Balfour a decade ago in 2007 and has since risen through the ranks to today lead the 30-strong PR team.
Russell Meara
Russell Meara Associate Director Russell started out as a Professional Goalkeeper at Southampton FC, before migrating across to the travel industry world. At Hills Balfour, he began as the Senior Sales & Marketing Manager for Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. Now, he’s an Associate Director and continuing to make Las Vegas bigger and better.
Daniela Resenterra
Daniela Resenterra PR Account Director Daniela started out in newspaper advertising but owed to her Italian routes, her ambition was always to work in travel. In 2009 after working in Hong Kong she joined Hills Balfour as a PR Account Executive quickly making her way up the ranks while working on an impressive assortment of accounts in Europe, Africa and South America. To date she’s worked across a range of exciting campaigns and PR stunts from launching new online travel platforms in the UK market to building famous landmarks out of lego.
Emma de Vadder
Emma de Vadder PR Account Director Emma created a career firmly rooted in travel and hospitality PR and Marketing, having worked both in-house and agency side, predominantly representing destinations. She spent nine years living and working in New York City, working for NYC & Company before moving on to VisitEngland. She now heads up the PR and Marketing for NYC & Company in the UK - needless to say she’s a huge fan of the city.
Hamish Reid
Hamish Reid MICE Director As the youngest recipient of the M&IT Personality of the Year Award in 2009, it’s safe to say that Hamish is passionate about the MICE Industry. With over 20 years of business events industry experience, Hamish now heads up the Hills Balfour MICE team. He enjoys helping destinations position themselves to their full advantage by promoting more than just their facilities.
Jane Dawkins
Jane Dawkins ACCOUNT DIRECTOR Jane started out as an Overseas Resort Rep for TUI and her early career was spent working ski and summer seasons in Europe and the USA. Jane offers wide-ranging travel industry experience with extensive tour operator contacts in cultural and luxury sectors across Middle East, USA and Europe. When not in the office she can be found on the slopes.
Jane Nicholson
Jane Nicholson REGIONAL ACCOUNT DIRECTOR With over 25 years’ experience in the long haul travel industry and senior roles in UK tour operators in sales, product and marketing, Jane has a proven track record in developing successful fully-integrated creative marketing campaigns. In her role at Hills Balfour, Jane is the International Director for the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions for Tourism and Events Queensland and was responsible for the UK rollout of the acclaimed 'Best Job in the World’ campaign. When out of the office, Jane loves design and fashion and strives for a healthy work/life balance with yoga and swimming forming a core part of her weekly routine.
Lucy Campbell
Lucy Campbell Content Director Raised in Africa and Hong Kong, Lucy first came to London to do a Psychology degree. After working in Australia, she settled back in London with her children and became a pioneer parent blogger. At Hills Balfour, she brings her creative touch to assist on social media programmes, online/offline campaigns and the company website.
Mark McCulloch
Mark McCulloch Communications Director Preceding his time at Hills Balfour, Mark spent several years living and working in lively New York City as well as delivering dynamic publicity for the likes of VisitEngland and Visit California. Now, he heads up a dynamic team working on Brand USA. Outside the office, he can be found swinging a racket on the badminton court.
Mathu Premaruban
Mathu Premaruban PR Director Mathu is a luxury travel and lifestyle specialist with a particular interest in hotels. In 2016 she joined Hills Balfour to help set up and run the luxury division, HB Luxe. When her head isn’t buried in the broadsheets and glossy magazines, she’s on the hunt for the best culinary experiences around the world.
Paul Black
Paul Black MICE SENIOR CONSULTANT Paul has been working in the tourism and events industry for over 12 years specialising in the MICE and group sectors.He joined Hills Balfour in 2010 from Visit London and has experience in working with convention bureau and destination tourism boards from all over the globe, and now heads up the European MICE sales for NYC & Company. Over his career he has developed strong client relationships with MICE buyers which is key when developing business for his clients.
Rosina Bradshaw
Rosina Bradshaw Campaigns Director Rosina is the epitome of Hills Balfour. In 2008 she joined the company as an intern and has progressed up through the ranks working on a number of high profile tourist boards and new business pitches as an instrumental player in the sales and marketing team. It’s quite clear, she has Hills Balfour running through her veins.
Rhys Powell
Rhys Powell Sales & Marketing Senior Account Director Prior to joining Hills Balfour, Rhys spent a few years working in marketing for Titan Travel as well as a manager for First Choice Holidays and Flights Ltd. In 2010 Rhys joined the Hills Balfour sales and marketing team and focused on developing and implementing exciting creative campaigns. Outside of work, he’s an avid painter and has even sold his art in galleries.
Samuel Hancock
Samuel Hancock Sales & Marketing Senior Account Director Raised on a farm in South Africa, Sam grew up to appreciate the outdoors and travel. Before joining Hills Balfour, Sam started his career in marketing and representation, focusing on the African market. Sam joined Hills Balfour in 2010 as an Account Manager and now heads up a large team working on an exciting mixture of accounts. Aside from work, Sam is a very keen sports fan and also plays a number of sports in his spare time.
Soe Maung
Soe Maung Financial Controller Soe is a Chartered Certified Accountant and oversees the finance department. Soe’s favourite quote is “Teamwork: Simply stated, it is less me and more we.”
Tryphavana Cross
Tryphavana Cross SALES & MARKETING AND PR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR Over the course of her career Tryphavana has held numerous positions in travel PR and sales and marketing in Ireland working across tourist boards, airlines and cruise lines. Having lived in Australia and being married to an American, she has a passion for all that is travel and enjoys playing basketball and running when not in the office.
Jason Dawes
Jason Dawes Planning Director A communications veteran, Jason was adidas Group’s first Global Head of Media, a founder of Naked Communications Amsterdam, and has lived and worked in US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Jason’s a closet mod, has numerous vintage Vespas and was at The Jam’s farewell gigs every night at Wembley Arena. He also has only twenty haircuts left.
Belinda King
Belinda King Group Account Director Never without her big Aussie smile, Belinda has led clients who are located all around the world. As once a client herself, she has launched a radio station, rebranded a publishing house and staged a rock concert. An eternal optimist who is fond of fairytales and disco, Belinda lives in a bubble of positivity.
Pierre Van der Merwe
Pierre Van der Merwe Creative Director An award-winning, conceptual storyteller, Pierre created campaigns from Abu Dhabi to Zurich, and everywhere in between - including the world’s first interactive TV ad. His own life stories are questionable though – from dodging bullets, sharks and a lightning strike, to getting lost in the Alps – and considers himself a conqueror of markets, hearts and minds. The beard is optional.
